The 2022 Bear to Make a Difference Gala on Saturday, October 8th was a huge success, bringing together 400+ MSF supporters and raising over $200K in net revenue.
The event celebrated Making a Difference Award honorees Zachary Quinto and Randy Rainbow, and highlighted the amazing work of Dennis Dougherty Award for Community Leadership honoree, Danica Roem, and Spirit of Matthew Award honoree, Zander Moricz. All four acceptance speeches focused on inspiring attendees to continue the work that Matt would be doing if he were still with us, while providing their own personal connection to Matt’s legacy and the Foundation.

As always, guests enjoyed a premier silent and live auction, featuring a unique Whistler Gay Ski Week Package, a pair of Elton John’s Versace sunglasses, Nike AF1’s, and an autographed pennant from the 2022 Stanley Cup Champion Colorado Avalanche.
The Foundation wishes to acknowledge our presenting partners Marriott International, Molson Coors Beverage Company, National LGBT Chamber of Commerce, State Farm, and Lightsource Creative Communications. Special thanks to our favorite auctioneer, Debbie Scheer, for leading our program with humor and grace, and thanks to our amazing entertainers: DJ Kurt, Edward Kelly Sanford, and Adrienne Short.
Last but not least, thanks to all who were in attendance. We look forward to seeing you next year at the 2023 Bear to Make a Difference Gala.
