Katherine Pope is the Matthew Shepard Foundation’s Development Officer of Special Events and Projects. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Katherine completed her B.A. at the University of Southern California in Health Promotion and Cultural Competence in Medicine. It was there that her passion for health, wellness and community building blossomed. She possesses over a decade of professional experience in fundraising, event management and wellness programming with an emphasis on community outreach and nonprofit partnership. Over her career, Katherine has volunteered and worked closely with youth shelters, cancer research foundations, adaptive sports and art organizations including the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver. She believes her dedication to doing socially meaningful work has led her to the Matthew Shepard Foundation.
A Denver resident since 2017, Katherine loves all things outdoors. She especially enjoys camping, climbing, paddleboarding, skiing and dragon boat racing. Katherine is a proud auntie of two who reside in Edinburgh, Scotland. Contact Katherine at katherine@matthewshepard.org.
